The Global Project enables global citizenship by helping people to build confidence, develop soft skills, explore their global identity and collaborate beyond borders.
Each Global Forum event delivers an hour of structured discussion about one of the goals and includes time for networking. Our mission is to inform about the goals, engage people with the challenges faced to achieve them, and connect a passionate community about or working towards them.
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), also known as the Global Goals, were adopted by the United Nations in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that by 2030 all people enjoy peace and prosperity.
The first event’s discussion touched on gentrification in Lisbon, and we considered the concept of a universal minimum income. People prepared themselves by reading up on SDG 1: No Poverty.
The second event (14.09.2022) was themed around the third goal, Good Health and Well-being. We will be looking at how Portugal handles addiction and discussing the importance of mental health.
The Global Forum is one of the in-person elements of the Global Project, which enables global citizenship by helping people to build confidence, develop soft skills, explore their global identity and collaborate beyond borders. There are also offered learning experiences.
We never like charging for events, but we’re working to make the project financially sustainable so that we can continue benefiting our community through events and learning experiences far into the future. The entry fee includes access to the event, organic wine, kombucha and a #IAmGlobal tote bag
