This April, in honour of Earth Awareness Month and Earth Day’s theme “Invest in Our Planet,” JCI Lisbon organized a successful Beach Cleanup Event on April 22nd in Cruz Quebrada. Partnering with Cisco, we brought together volunteers passionate about making a positive environmental impact.
A Day of Action and Awareness 🌍
The event was designed to offer a meaningful way for individuals to give back to the planet by dedicating their most valuable resource: their time. We invited community members to spend the day caring for our beloved beaches while engaging in activities that promote sustainability and well-being.
Impressive Turnout and Results
Participants: We were proud to host a total of 44 participants and helpers.
Trash Collected: Together, we filled 30 trash bags with litter from the beaches.
Beaches Cleaned: The cleanup focused on Cruz Quebrada Beach in the morning and Dafundo Beach in the afternoon—both of which are not regularly maintained by the municipality.
